In this first one I'll just explain the process I went through to get to a basic usable Ubuntu installation with all the perks that I was used to in Windows. For a few parts of this I used a tutorial I found on UbuntuForums.org by user LinuxIsInnovation. I suggest the forum to ALL Ubuntu users.
